Privacy policy

The short version. Your shipment details — shipper, consignee, carrier, commodity, weights, signatures — are typed into your own browser, formatted there, and printed from there. They are never sent to us. We do not have an account system, so there is nothing to log in to and nothing of yours to leak.

What happens to what you type

BOL Maker is a static website. Everything the generator does — reading the fields, building the sheet, laying it out for print — runs as code inside the page, on your device. There is no back end that receives your form, no database that stores it, and no log of it anywhere on our side. When you close the tab, it is gone, which is also why you should print or save the PDF before you do.

What we store on your device

Exactly one thing. Switch the site to dark mode and we remember that choice on your own device — a single stored value, nothing else — purely so the page does not flash white at you on the next visit. Clearing your browser data erases it.

What we measure

We use Google Analytics (GA4) to see how many people reach the site, which pages they land on, and roughly where in the world they are — the aggregate numbers that tell us whether the tool is useful and worth maintaining. Google sets cookies or similar identifiers to do this, and processes that data on its own terms as described inGoogle's privacy policy. Analytics never sees the contents of the form: the values you type are not events, not parameters, and are not transmitted.

Analytics only loads on the live bolmaker.com site. If you run this project locally or reach it on a preview URL, no measurement happens at all.

Advertising

BOL Maker does not currently show advertising. If that changes, we will say so here before it appears, and we will disclose the ad networks involved. Third-party advertising vendors — Google among them — commonly use cookies to serve ads based on prior visits to this and other sites, and where that applies you will be able to opt out of personalised advertising throughGoogle's Ads Settings. Any advertising would sit around the tool; it will never be a condition of using it.

Hosting

The site's files are served by Cloudflare. As with any web host, their edge network necessarily sees the request itself — your IP address, the page you asked for, your browser's user agent — in order to answer it, and processes those under its own terms. We do not receive or retain those logs.

Children

This is a tool for people arranging freight shipments. It is not directed at children, and we do not knowingly collect anything from them.
