Terms of use
Last reviewed July 2026
By using BOL Maker you accept what follows. It is short, because the tool is simple: it takes what you type and lays it out on a bill of lading.
What you are getting
A free, browser-based generator that formats a straight bill of lading from the details you enter, plus written explanations of what those details mean. Use it for your own shipments, commercially or otherwise, as much as you like. You do not owe us anything and you do not need our permission.
The document is yours; the accuracy is too
Everything that appears on the printed sheet came from you. We do not verify your freight class, confirm your carrier's SCAC, check that your weights match what a certified scale will say, or validate an address. A bill of lading you generate here is your representation of your shipment, and you are responsible for it — including the certification you make when you sign it.
Not legal advice, and not your contract of carriage
The explanations on this site describe how bills of lading generally work in domestic United States motor freight. They are general information, not legal advice, and they do not create a relationship of any kind between you and us. The terms that actually govern your shipment live in your carrier's tariff and in the agreement between you and that carrier — not on this website. Where the two appear to disagree, your carrier's terms are the ones that count.
Some shipments need more than this tool produces. Freight regulated under 49 CFR hazmat rules, freight moving under a letter of credit, negotiable or order bills of lading, and cross-border shipments all carry requirements BOL Maker does not attempt to meet. Do not use it as though it does.
No warranty, and the limit of our liability
The tool is provided as it is, without warranty of any kind, express or implied. We do not promise it will be available, error-free, or fit for any particular shipment. So far as the law permits, we accept no liability for losses that follow from using it — among them re-class and re-weigh charges, refused or failed deliveries, rejected claims, detention or accessorial fees, and any indirect or consequential loss. If you conclude that a document produced here is not right for your shipment, do not use it.
The site itself
The wording, explanations, layout and code of this site belong to Worklifted Technologies. The bills of lading you generate with it belong to you. Please do not scrape, republish or resell the site's content as your own; do use the documents it makes, freely.
